Sabu was born in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan in 1964. First a musician, he later became an actor and director. He appeared in 15 movies, including Kurosawa Kyoshi’s Pulse and Miike Takashi’s Dead or alive under his real name, Tanaka Hiroyuki. He wrote over a dozen film scripts and directed as many features.
