Majid Majidi was born in Tehran in 1959. He starts as a drama player, before appearing in M. Makhmalbaf's movies. In 1991, he directs his debut feature Baduk, which will be screened in Cannes' Director's Fortnight. Father is his second long feature. He has directed short & long features, as well as documentaries.
