Hiner Saleem was born 1964 in Iraqi Kurdistan – in North Iraq. At the age of seventeen, he fled Iraq to escape the oppression of Saddam Hussein. Political Refugee, he has been living in Paris for 10 years. His movie Vodka Lemon received Golden Cyclo in 2004.
