Viet Linh was born in Saigon in 1952. She joined the National Liberation Front for Southern Vietnam in 1968 and started as a film editor, cameraman and scriptwriter before directing documentaries. Graduated from Moscow’s VGIK in 1986, she directed seven long features for Ho Chi Minh City’s GIAI PHONG STUDIO. She has been a jury member for VIFF of Asian Cinema's 6th edition.
