Vahid Jalilvand was born in Tehran in 1976. A graduate of Tehran Theater University, he began his career as a theater actor at a very young age. In 1996, he began working for Iranian television as an editor and then as a director. He then made documentaries. He has directed and acted in several television films. Wednesday, May 9 is his first feature-length fiction film. In 2017 his second feature film Cas de conscience was selected and awarded prizes in many major international festivals. In 2022, Beyond the Wall competes for the Golden Lion in Venice.
