Anna, an investigator in the Israeli army, is a young woman full of ideals. When she confronts an officer of the elite with accusations of unjustified violence towards a Palestinian in the occupied territories, her own integrity and determination are sorely tried. In spite of the political complexity of the affair and warnings from her colleagues, she clearly takes a stance against what seems to be misuse of power. But her increasingly relentless search for justice ends up having serious consequences on all the people involved.

“I think that a feminine presence is able to ‘undo’ the power struggle and defuse the games of power so characteristic of the male universe, by potentially inducing these men to make a moral judgement on what they are doing ... What I found interesting was to see how Anna was transformed throughout the film into a dominant figure, the true representative of the military institution and of authority, while the brilliant officer, a pure Israeli, gradually loses stature and finally is edged towards the fringe. This reversal of the situation is central to the problems raised by the film.” Sharon Bar-ziv
