When Hassan learns that an electric power pole will be installed in the midst of the lands he cultivates, he does his best so that his land will be spared. But before leaving to Mecca for pilgrimage, he promises his wife to repair the mistakes of the past. « My stories are about the human conflicts that we all go through, no mat- ter what our origins are. They are focused on the questioning of the characters coming from various social classes. Each person follows their own path; each person tries to make sense of it, in their own unique way and which cannot be explained by one’s social role. To me, it’s important that the members of the audience feel what any human feels: the pain, the remorse, the anxieties, while on screen I try to film their conflicts and contradictions.
