Iran today. A family are on their way to a secret destination. They cross the magnificent countryside of northern Iran. At the back of the car, the father is wearing a plaster cast, but has he really broken his leg? The mother laughs about everything but is she not holding back her tears? Their little boy never stops joking, singing and dancing. All of them are worried about their sick dog. Only the mysterious big brother remains silent. As the kilometers fly past, the tension can be felt. This epic has in fact a precise aim.
Music, whether it be classical or traditional, fills the head of the spectator who switches from laughter to tears. This comedy, which is filled with great tenderness expressed by talented actors and shifts between tragedy and black humour, is the first film produced by Panah Panahi, the son of the great Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi.
The younger generation of Iranian directors is ready to take over.
