Tibetan mastiffs are in demand by Chinese businessmen, and are becoming extremely pricy and rare. In the late 1990s, somewhere in Tibet, Gonpo sells the family’s dog to a dealer without anybody knowing. When his father finds out, he immediately retrieves the mastiff to free it in the mountains. But the animal gets quickly captured to be resold again at high price. Gonpo retrieves the dog by violence and ends up in prison. The old man visits his son in order to have a real discussion.
