Two little girls move in with their father in a big countryside house in order to live closer to the hospital where their mother is staying. They soon discover the existence of wonderful yet discreet creatures : the Totoros.

My Neigbor Totoro is a refreshing and dynamic animation movie for young and old. On the very opposite of all violent cartoons with robots and super heros, this movie is a tribute to nature, to simple child games and their simple joy within a calm environment.

« Personally, I would like children to remain close to nature and when they watch two or three animation features a year, they would be delighted about what they see.».

«I made this movie not to remind my childhood memories, but to try to transmit children some of the beautiful things in life. Totoro lives a quiet and peaceful life, very deep within the frest and he only appears to children with pure hearts». Hayao Miyazaki.
