Mongolia, after the Battles of Khalkhin Gol, 1939. Young widow Tsevel decides to move together with her deceased husband’s best friend– against her parents’ and her son’s will. The later is convinced his new father-in-law killed his dad on purpose to marry his mother. The child starts a mental war against the new occupant.

The Shadow is a spectacular “behind-the-doors”, somewhere in Mongolia, between past and present, shot in color and Black and White. One of the most beautiful war movies ever made, which shows the soldier’s difficult after-life. The child’s play is extraordinary.
