Qiang lives in a big city. He daily has to struggle to take care of his mentally unstable mother and his five-year-old sister Hui Shan, whom he loves above all. When a car tragically hits Hui Shan and kills her, what mostly despairs him is not to get his sister’s corpse back. He cannot prove he is related to her because the young girl never got registered when she was born. His mother is of no help, he must face the situation alone.

This hard-hitting social drama is the moving portrayal of an impoverished family trying to cope with tragedy and mental illness in a very divided society, where bureaucracy, corruption and indifference reign supreme.

Young Malay director Tan Seng Kiat’s debut feature gathers talented actors such as Sylvia Chang and pop singer Jack Tan, of course not forgetting the moving little actress Angel Chan.
