In Lebanon where 17 different religious communities coexist, the religious marriage is the only official one. If two persons belonging to different religions intend to marry, one of them will necessarily convert to the other one's religion. These laws established under the Ottoman domination are contested today by a part of the Lebanese population demanding a new law allowing civil marriage. Still a long way to go... Within this context, the film focuses on three "Romeo and Juliet" couples with different religions. How do they cope with their love? What eventful moments do they experience in confronting the taboos of society, and sometimes of their families opposed to their union? For one couple the way out is easy, whereas two others have to struggle hard and yet with an uncertain outcome.
