Hong Kong, 2008. Three people’s lives are about to be shattered by the financial crisis: an ordinary bank clerk encouraging his clients to make risky investments in order to meet his financial objectives, a petty crook speculating to find enough money to put up bail for a friend in trouble with the law and a honest cop whose wife got into debt to buy a luxurious flat.
These three characters are worlds apart, until their relationship to money - and a mysterious bag with five million stolen dollars - push them to take crucial decisions despite their guilty conscience.
“It is a turbulent world. To survive people have no other choice than to play. No matter for how long you manage to follow the rules, sooner or later a part of you will be lost”. Johnnie To.
