Korean director Joong-rae is preparing his next film. Unable to finish his script, he decides to leave for Shinduri, a sea-side resort on the Western coast, in order to get inspiration. He asks his friend Changwook, the art director, to come with him. Chang-wook takes his girlfriend Moon-sook, a composer, with him. She is an admirer of Joongrae’s films and soon responds to the director’s advances… The following day, they separate. A few days later Joong-rae comes back to Shinduril where he meets Sun-hee, a young woman with whom he spends the night. Moon-sook who has come to meet Joong-rae finds him in the company of the woman.
Hong Sang-hoo’s seventh feature film, Woman on the Beach is one of his best works with such good analysis of the human behavior in a light and sensitive mood.
