To make a living, sixty-year-old So-young is compelled to work as a prostitute for old men. She is a “Bacchus Lady”, an aged prostitute approaching her clients with a bottle of Bacchus, a famous Korean energizing drink, asking: “will you have a drink?”. Her aging clients are scarce. They must face all kinds of problems due to old age such as cancer, Alzheimer, the feeling of deep loneliness. She meets Kopino, a Korean-Filipino mixed-race boy whose mother is in jail. He reminds her of her own son when she was a prostitute for American soldiers; she chose to leave him for adoption in the USA. With the help of her two neighbors, transgender owner Mrs. Tina and disabled young man Do-Hoon, she has to take difficult human decisions. Even if it tackles serious issues, “The Bacchus Lady” never dwells on the dark side.  It‘s a bitter-sweet comedy supported by Youn YuhYung, a famous actress in Korea.
