In Iranian Kurdistan, not far from the Iraqi boarder, five children live on their own. Their mother died when giving birth to the last child and their father was a victim of one among countless bombs buried in this frontier land where the same people live split in four different countries. The youngest suffers from congenital illness and needs expensive medical care to survive. Despite of the elder’s efforts with his small jobs, the amount needed for the operation cannot be found. The elder sister agrees to marry an Iraqi who accepts to take care of them and cover the expenses for the operation. They start their journey towards the frontier, but the bridegroom’s family retracts and offers them a horse as compensation. They turn back.
