Minah lives in the overpopulated suburbs of Jakarta, where she brings up alone her five young grand-children. After their parents’ separation they were given to Minah’s custody. She earns a living as a laundress and masseuse. The second child, young Juned, sells newspapers at the school entrance and brings a little money home. Minah would like to take the children to the countryside. But the dream turns into a nightmare…
The film is inspired by the true story of the biggest train disaster in Indonesia.
