Tongtong was born in Taiwan and he has never seen the snow. His mother comes from Inner Mongolia in China, where the temperature can fall to minus 40 degrees. This winter, his mother has decided to take Tongtong with her to see her old grand-mother who is unwell. In this distant cold country, Tongtong can see fishes freezing as soon as they are caught, and mountains covered with thick snow. He is happy to be with his grand-parents whom he very rarely meets. But what he will never forget about this short journey is the availability and cheerfulness of his mother, who takes time to play with him and enjoys it. Taiwan is an island of immigrants. Recently, marriages between Taiwanese and persons from far distant countries have become a common fact.
